BAS consolidated pension election data across 90+ employer groups into a secure automated reporting workflow, eliminating 80+ hours of monthly manual processing.
A union trust fund needed to collect pension election data from more than 90 employer groups, consolidate the information into a standardized format, and securely deliver it to a third-party financial institution. Prior to BAS's engagement, this process was entirely manual, consuming more than 80 hours per month in staff time and introducing ongoing risk of data errors.
The operational challenge was multi-dimensional. Data arrived from 90+ employer groups in inconsistent formats, submitted through inconsistent processes, with varying compliance with submission standards. Each file required manual review and reformatting before it could be consolidated and transmitted. The financial institution required a clean, standardized feed — which the manual process could not consistently deliver.
Additionally, multiple payroll vendors served the employer group, introducing further variability in data format and transmission timing.
BAS built a custom employer portal that supported standardized file uploads across all 90+ employer groups. A direct file feed integration was developed with the financial institution, enabling automated, secure data transmission on a defined schedule.
Process automation impact: A manual process consuming more than 80 hours per month was fully automated, eliminating both the time cost and the error risk.
