Employers across the United States are gearing up for the upcoming EEO-1 data collection procedure, a critical aspect of ensuring equal employment opportunities. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has recently announced important updates regarding the process for the 2023 EEO-1 Component 1 reports.

The EEOC compliance portal opened April 30, 2024. Private employers with a workforce of at least 100 employees and federal contractors with a minimum of 50 employees must initiate the sorting of data by employee job category, sex, and race/ethnicity. This data will must then be submitted to the EEOC by the deadline of June 4, 2024.

To facilitate this process, the EEOC has revamped its EEO-1 data collection website, providing resources and support for employers navigating the reporting requirements. The newly named EEO-1 online Filer Support Message Center, formerly known as the filer help desk, opened this week and offers assistance and guidance to employers as they prepare their submissions.

Employers are encouraged to stay updated on developments or information regarding the 2023 EEO-1 data collection by regularly checking the EEOC’s website. By staying informed and proactive, employers can fulfill their responsibilities and uphold principles of fairness and equality in the workforce.
